Attendance

It is very important that children are in school and on time unless unfit to attend.

Children who frequently arrive late or miss days of schooling often find it difficult to remember routines or be aware of current class teaching. Children with extended absences often find that friendship groups have changed and that it is difficult to be included in playtime activities.

Children arriving after 8.55am should be accompanied safely to the school office. Any children arriving in school after 9.10am are marked late and the number of late arrivals recorded.

Holidays should not be booked in term time.  In rare occasions such as unavoidable a total authorised absence of up to 1 week in any school year may be granted, depending on previous good attendance.

School must be informed early on the first day of any absence of the reason for the absence. Mrs Wheaton, Learning Mentor, will contact parents if no information is received. Children should return to school as soon as they are able to do so.

Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006
